Overview
If your Chameleon approaches a gate but no game content appears around it, the game is failing to see the gate. This can also impact the ability to successfully create a new track.
The next few pages will describe some common reasons for failed gate detection and offer solutions to try.
Lightning Conditions
Try turning on additional lights to ensure that the play area is bright enough for the camera to clearly see the gates.
Direct sunlight or glare can also cause partially obstructed views. If you are having issues with a gate that is directly in sunlight, try moving it or using window shades to reduce glare.
Blocked / Obstructed
Ensure that there are no objects that impede the view of the gate banner as you drive the Chameleon towards the gate. The Chameleon needs to be able to clearly see the gate banner to recognize it.
Markings on Gate Banners
Do not write on, add stickers, or color the gates. Any altering of the artwork on the gates can lead to the inability of the game to recognize them.
Cleaning the Camera Lens
The Chameleon utilizes an on-board camera to recognize the gates placed in your world, as well as to deliver high quality video from the car’s perspective to your game.
To clean the lens, use a soft nonabrasive cloth to wipe the lens free of any fingerprints or dust.
