Overview
A Wi-Fi connection will connect your Chameleon to your home network. This option extends the range of play to a much larger area. You can drive your Chameleon anywhere that you have Wi-Fi coverage and turn your entire home into a playground for epic stunts!
Network Name and Password
Your network name (SSID) is the name that is used when connecting devices to your home network. It is case sensitive and may contain special characters, so be sure to match it exactly how it appears when connecting other devices to your network.
The PlayStation 4/5 that is running the game must also be connected to the same network you are selecting.
Network Visibility
Some home routers have a setting to hide the network from being discoverable to nearby devices. This is an uncommon setting to have on. If your network is visible to nearby devices or you are unsure, you can leave this option checked and proceed.
If your network is hidden, uncheck the box and click Next. You will be prompted to enter a 6-digit code found on the bottom of the Chameleon.
Scanning QR Code
Point your Chameleon’s camera at the QR code being displayed on your screen. Your Chameleon’s Rift Engine LED will flash GREEN when it has successfully detected the QR Code and will then return to pulsing BLUE as it attempts to connect to the software.
If your Chameleon’s Rift Engine LED flashes RED and then returns to pulsing BLUE, try adjusting the distance and angle to the QR code.
If your Chameleon’s Rift Engine LED begins pulsing a color other than blue, fails to read the QR code, or is not connecting, see the next page for additional information.
Trouble Reading QR Code
If the Chameleon is not reading the QR code and the Rift Engine LED continues to pulse blue, try increasing the brightness of the screen displaying the QR code and ensuring that the Chameleon’s camera lens is clean and has a direct line of sight to the code.
If the Chameleon flashes GREEN and returns to pulsing BLUE and does not connect, double check that the device running the game is connected to the same network.
If the Chameleon’s Rift Engine flashed GREEN but is now pulsing a color other than BLUE, continue to the next page for additional information.
Error Codes
If the Chameleon Rift Engine LED flashes RED and then changes to pulsing ORANGE, this means that the Chameleon was unable to find the network based on the name that you entered.
Or if your network is hidden, you may have failed to uncheck the Network Visibility setting or enter the correct 6-digit code.
Try returning to the previous Network Credentials step and verify that the Wi-Fi name is correct.
Error Codes Continued
If the Chameleon Rift Engine LED flashes GREEN and then changes to pulsing YELLOW, this means that the Chameleon found your network but had the wrong password. Try returning to the previous Network Credentials step and verify that the Wi-Fi password is correct.
